The Arts Midwest mission promotes creativity, nurtures cultural leadership, and engages people in meaningful arts experiences, bringing vitality to Midwest communities and enriching people’s lives.
Nonprofit organizations in Illinois, Iowa, Michigan, Minnesota, North Carolina, Ohio, South Dakota and Wisconsin can apply for the Arts Midwest Touring Fund grants from $500 to $4,000. Eligible applicants must be nonprofit 501(c)(3) organizations, state or local governments, federally recognized tribal communities or tribes.
To be considered for a grant, applicants must contract with professional artists or ensembles from anywhere in the world outside of the applicant organization’s state. The artists and ensembles must demonstrate excellence in dance, music, theater and other performing arts. The performances must take place in the recipient’s own or a community venue and reach an underserved community.
The application deadline is April 25, 2018. Performances must run between July 1, 2018 and June 30, 2019.
