We are halfway through Black Philanthropy Month. The organizers are highlighting organizations and people who are giving back to their communities. For the rest of the month I will be sharing stories about philanthropy benefiting and supporting people and communities of African-descent.
Black Philanthropy Month was founded by the Pan African Women’s Philanthropy Network and proclaimed by the United Nations and Congress in August 2011, Black Philanthropy Month was created as an annual, global celebration of African-descent giving in the United States and worldwide.
